I have a love of all architecture but especially art deco and mid-century modern.

The Bron-Shoe Co. - Columbus, Ohio
1313 Alum Creek Drive - The bulk of this building is just a regular warehouse style building but the front is a fun mix of mid-century styles from 1950. I always love a zigzag roof line and some nice rock work.
These windows always make me think of elementary schools.
Rockophobia!? One of the things I find interesting about a building like this one is the rockwork, which is so organic, and the overtly synthetic man-madeness of the modern elements of the structure.
Also, there was a time when places like (the then) PCC and the Natural History Museum at UF had that fashion of earth sloping up the sides of the building with grass growing over it, like the walls were partially buried.
I feel you on the elementary school windows. I wonder what happened to the vogue of rockwork. And rock gardens and pet rocks...
