The Topiary Park is in the Old Deaf School Park, the site that had previously held the buildings of the school which burnt to the ground. The park features a topiary interpretation of George Seurat's painting A Sunday Afternoon on the Isle of La Grande Jatte. In the third and sixth pictures you can see the remaining Old Deaf School building in the background. Visit the parks website here http://www.topiarygarden.org/.
Although I admire the ambition of recreating the Seurat painting in topiary, something about the result looks strange.
ReplyDeleteThe garden could certainly use some maintenance. The topiarys looked like they could use a good trim. I'm sure they used the shrubs they did for the topiaries because they are hearty for the climate but I think that the kind of plant Disney uses for their topiaries would have created a much sharper and more pleasing result.
