Post Office - St. Petersburg, Florida

76 4th Street North - First open air post office (later partially enclosed) in the nation opened in 1917 and was designed by George W. Stuart.

  1. So many fabulous details: Renaissance and Gothic and Classical elements. I like the subtle coloring of the relief designs. And what would we call those things that taper off of the lamp in photo 3?

    I used to think that, apart from its location, the Clearwater Post Office would be my perfect house - Spanish style, orange tile, coquina rock...But I did not know about this architectural gem in Saint Petersburg. Maybe I should go see it sometime.
