Broad Street United Methodist Church - Columbus, Ohio

501 East Broad Street - Circa 1885.

  1. Seems kinda Richardsonian Romanesque, too, because of all the heavy stone and the weighty, bulky feel it has. Apart from the spires, there is no sense of light, airy, reaching to the sky. Those globe lamp shades look out of place.

  2. These photos capture the effects of the newly finished masonry-revitalization project quite nicely. It looks wonderful, and is the culmination of a long period of work.

The Church operates a nice soup kitchen out of their basement, and if you volunteer, someone is always eager to give a brief historical tour of the place afterward.
