Ponce De Leon Hotel - St. Augustine, Florida

74 King Street - Constructed from 1885 to 1887 and designed by John Carrere and Thomas Hastings.  The hotel is today part of Flagler College.

  1. How almost unbearably gorgeous! Just the other day I was saying to Ranney that it must be exoticist of me, but I love anything evocative of Spanish Colonialism as much as I hate American Colonial design. But, to be fair to myself, all of the years I spent studying espanol may have contributed to this mindset.

  2. I'm with you on both. One of my least favorite styles is American Colonial (a tired style that sees no end of revivals). Meanwhile, styles such as this are so much richer and interesting.
