Thunderbird Motel - Treasure Island, Florida

10700 Gulf Boulevard - Sadly I only got this one shot as I sat at a traffic light.  I was unable to stop this day for further pictures.  Guess I need to take a trip back.  Circa 1957.

Livingston Theater - Columbus, Ohio

1567 East Livingston Avenue - Circa 1946.  Everything about this building is cool except its condition.  Check out a couple more pics over on Agilitynut.

US Capitol Building - Washington, DC

It seemed appropriate to post something from Washington, DC on Independence Day.

The Washington Monument is barely visible through the haze at the far end of the mall.  Just to the left of the left lamp post is the National Museum of the American Indian ( beige curved building)

Another view looking down the mall towards the Washington Monument.

The Rotunda.

National Statuary Hall.

National Statuary Hall.

The Crypt.

Cigar Factory - Tampa, Florida

900 North Howard Avenue - Circa 1930, this place was just too cool and there are any number of similar structures in the area (some of which will be posted in the future).  I believe this one was vacant.

Labor Ready - Hollywood, California

6379 Hollywood Boulevard - There are so many elements to this building that I love.  The most obvious is the sign (no not the Labor Ready sign, silly, that groovy one on the left with the three sections).  The overhang at the top and the awning just above that period inappropriate screen are both great.  And what is that little heart shaped thingy on top of the building between the sign and the overhang?  I don't care 'cause I think it's cool.

Harder Hall - Sebring, Florida

3300 Golfview Road - This 1927 Spanish Colonial Revival hotel was designed by William Manley King.  All of these pictures were taken from quite a distance since the property sits vacant and the grounds were patrolled by police.
