Ship of the Desert - Palm Springs, California
1995 Camino Monte - This Streamline-Moderne home dates form the 1930's. The name obviously derives from the fact that the house from a distance looks like a great deco ocean liner cruising across the desert floor. The home was designed by Adrian Wilson & Earl Webster.

I marvel at the major increase in my ability to appreciate the various design features of these modern architecture photos, due to what I have learned in my Period Costume, Architecture, and Decor class. Also, it amazes me how long ago architects envisioned buildings that look so current. And yesterday, I noticed some very FLW style houses in Looney Tunes cartoons - funny!
