Women's Club, Winter Haven, Florida

660 Pope Avenue NW - Women's Civic League / Women's Club Museum was constructed in 1923 and sits near the shores of Lake Howard. It was added to the National Register Of Historic Places in 1998.

Budget Inn - Valdosta, Georgia

218 West Hill Avenue - I had a 1969 postcard for the Imperial '400' Motel (now a Budget Inn) in Valdosta so on a recent trip through Georgia I decided to breeze by and see how it was holding up 40 years later. It was not doing to bad. A nice little mid-century design. Any interesting details are concentrated on the office part of the structure. The rest of the motel is just standard motor inn material. Lincoln Income Life Insurance Tower / Kaden Tower

6100 Dutchmans Lane, Louisville, Kentucky - (1966) These pictures were taken about ten years ago on a trip to Louisville, Kentucky. We were cruising down the highway when I caught a glimpse of this great building off to one side. I made the driver get off at the next exit and find our way back to it. I can't believe I only took three pictures. I guess that was one of the disadvantages to using a camera with film. If I was there today with a digital camera I probably wouldn't take less then thirty pictures trying to catch every angle and detail.

Bergstresser / Dietz Covered Bridge

There's really nothing for me to say that isn't covered on the Historical Marker. The bridge is now only open to pedestrian traffic.

Southgate Shopping Center

The marvelous Southgate Shopping Center on South Florida Avenue in Lakeland, Florida. The center opened in 1957 and was designed by Donovan Dean & Associates. It was also featured in the 1990 film Edward Scissorhands.

Central High School / COSI

West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio - Central High School opened in 1924 and was designed by architect William B. Ittner. The school closed in 1982. The Center of Science and Industry (COSI) moved into the building in 1999 after the addition of a modern structure by architect Arata Isozaki.

The east side of the building (the Central High School side) faces the Scioto River and downtown Columbus.
