Hotel Rosslyn Annex - Los Angeles, California

112 West 5th Street - Built in 1923 and designed by Parkinson & Parkinson as a companion to the Rosslyn Hotel across the street.

Warner Brothers Downtown Theater - Los Angeles, California

South Hill and 7th Street - Opened as the Pantages in 1920 and became the Warner Brothers in 1929.  Now home to a jewelry store.  Designed by B. Marcus Priteca.

Rialto Theater - Los Angeles, California

812 South Broadway - The theater originally opened in 1917 and was extensively remodeled in 1919.  The fantastic marquee was added in the 30's.  You can see a great photo of the original facade at Cinema Treasures along with a picture of the auditorium.

3141 West Manchester Boulevard - Built in 1939 and designed by S. Charles Lee.

Hollywood & Highland - Hollywood, California

6801 Hollywood Boulevard - Home of the Dolby Theatre (the Kodak Theatre when these pictures were taken), home of the Oscars, and a variety of dining and shopping options.  Opened in 2001.  The development is a mix of different styles dominated by recreations of some set pieces from the D.W. Griffith epic Intolerance.

Fox Embroidery - Venice, California

620 Lincoln Boulevard - Opened in 1951 as the Fox Theater, today this building is home to an embroidery company.  Many of the details have been stripped from the facade but the bones are still there.  Pop over to Cinema Treasures for a look at the old theater facade.  This is another shot taken from a moving vehicle so sorry about the quality.

Milk - Los Angeles, California

7290 Beverly Boulevard - This 1931 building was one of the inspirations for the facade of The Darkroom at Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World.  Sorry for the poor quality, these were taken while zooming by.

American Cement Building - Los Angeles, California

2400 Wilshire Boulevard - Built in 1964 and designed by the firm Daniel Mann Johnson & Mendenhall.  When I spotted this through the windshield of the car I'm sure I screamed "STOP".  An entire building covered in pre-cast concrete screens.  I was in heaven. 

Both beautiful and brutalistic, there's nothing I don't like about this building.
