Christy's Sundown Restaurant - Winter Haven, Florida
1100 Third Street SW - I'm glad I took this picture last May since this sign no longer exists. It has been replaced with a very low tasteful sign. I don't mind the new sign but it doesn't have the same pull as the old one. I've only eaten at Christy's once, for Homecoming back in 1990, and the food was quite delicious.

I really do not spend much time out in Winter Haven! The sign I remember is one with a silhouette of a coach pulled by a horse (or horses?), although the one in this photo looks familiar, too. I ate there once or twice. I definitely recall a bean and bacon soup, but I cannot remember if I liked it. My family's perception of Christy's as too expensive, and my grandmother's bad experience of having drawn butter spilled on her (if I tell that correctly) extremely limited our visits. Other people must frequent Christy's or they would not have stayed in business this long - more than 35 years, at least!
