I just wanted to say a quick hello to my new followers.  With my incredibly hectic schedule of late it's been difficult to even get posts prepared and until now I hadn't realized you'd joined.  Hopefully you will find things to interest and entertain you and perhaps make you slow down and take a closer look at the world around you.  Enjoy.

Various Buildings - Canal Point, Florida

Canal Point is an unicorporated agricultural community.  Driving through it also seemed almost uninhabited as well.  I felt that posting these pictures as a unit instead of as individual building posts seemed appropriate in this case.  Overall the place seemed to have a very ghost town feel about it.

This old gas station sits at the corner of Old Connors Highway and Everglades Street.

Old Connors Highway - This fun little place was obviously once either a duplex or part of a larger motel complex.  You can see where the right hand door has been blocked in.

Westcott House - Springfield, Ohio

1340 East High Street - Frank Lloyd Wright's Westcott House is a gorgeous Prairie Style home.  I lived not far away in Columbus for five years and was frequently in the Springfield area but never made it to this home until right before I moved out of state.  I'm glad I did.  All pictures are of the exterior as interior photos are forbidden.  If you're in the area I recommend stopping by for a tour.  Check the Westcott House website for further information.

Gates leading to the entrance of the home.  Like many FLW houses, the entrance is very unassuming and/or virtually hidden.  While the house fronts on High Street, its entrance is actually on Greenmount Avenue.

5126 South Conway Road - While I enjoy the general look of this clock structure anchoring the corner of this shopping center parking lot, I have to take exception with the very tradition clock face which is totally inappropriate in style.
