769 East Long Street - Opened in 1928 as the Ogden Theater and catered to the African-American neighborhood in which it is located. The interior, which was in the process of being restored while I lived in Columbus, is Egyptian Revival.

House - Beverly Hills, California
North Camden Drive - Cool house from the patterned block wall to the monolithic entrance. The only distracting thing is the security bars.

Florida Citrus Showcase (The End) - Winter Haven, Florida
100 Cypress Gardens Boulevard SW - Love it or hate it, a Winter Haven landmark is finally gone. After decades of talk, the Orange Dome has finally been demolished. The pictures below are from about 2PM on Monday. Link back to my previous post to see some pictures pre-demolition. Also check out a YouTube video below of the demolition shot by Dr. Paul Bearer, II.
Just a pile of rubble is all that's left.

House - Tampa, Florida
North Highland Avenue - While cruising the streets of Tampa a week ago, I stumbled on this fantastic piece of mid-century fun from 1960. Sadly when I got home my overall shot was blurry so I made sure I visited it again this weekend when I was in Tampa and snapped several more pictures.
The offending blurry picture.
Fantastic block.
The wonderful carport and its winglike design.
Here the angle of the roof really stands out.
An image (not mine) of the house from the air. This had to be the perfect Florida mid-century dream home with its space age design with refreshing pool and gardens in the back.
